Out of Print Rotographic titles

Below and on the following pages is an illustrated list of some of the out of print Rotographic titles from the mid 60's to the 1990's. It's ironic that some of these books about collectables, are now a little collectable themselves! All the smaller pictures link to larger images when clicked. This list is by no means complete because over the years it was not possible to keep copies of every title. If you have a Rotographic title that isn't on this list please let us know! email

The 1960's

The Check your Change series was the most successful series of booklets on coins in the 1960's. All titles were written and researched by Richard Marles. WANTED: A 1st edition "Check your Change No.1"! email if you have one.

Check your change, RotographicCheck your Change (Revised edition) No.1 of series. Printed mid 60's

This slightly shabby copy of "Check Your Change" Revised edition is assumed to be the 2nd edition and lists coins up to 1965. This book was donated to the Rotographic archive by Mr D Ayling-Smith, who provided input 40 years later, for the 2005 (32nd) edition of "Collectors' Coins Great Britain 2005! Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your change, RotographicCheck your Change (3rd edition) No.1 of series. Printed late 60's

The biggest selling book in the history of Rotographic. 'Check your Change' offered coin market values for coins that would commonly be found in circulation in the late 60's. British Halfpennies - Half Crowns dated 1902-1967. Farthings (demonetised 1960) and commemorative crowns were not covered, nor were gold coins. Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your change, RotographicCheck your Change (4th edition) No.1 of series. Printed 1969

At the time of writing (August 2005) this 4th edition is the latest edition of Check Your Change No.1 that I've been able to track down. Was this the last edition before decimalisation slowed sales drastically? Or was there a 5th, produced in the early 70's just before decimalisation? Eyes peeled. Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your change companion, RotographicThe Check your Change Companion (1st edition) No.2 of series. Printed late 60's

To compliment the 'Check your change' No.1, this book offered market values for British coins dated 1902 - 1965 that were NOT usually found in circulation. Essentially this book covered Farthings, Maundy money, Crowns (which were really commemorative/special coins) and gold coins. Format: 16 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your channel islands change, RotographicThe Check your  Change Companion (?2nd edition?) No.2 of series. Printed late 60's

To compliment the 'Check your change' No.1, this book offered market values for British coins dated 1902 - 1968 that were NOT usually found in circulation. Essentially this book covered Farthings, Maundy money, Crowns (which were really commemorative/special coins) and gold coins. Unlike the earlier edition this book also covers some patterns, proof sets and gold coins from branch mints.   Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm. For the first time, this edition has a new SBN (the forerunner of ISBN): SBN 901170 05 4.

Check your Victorian change, RotographicCheck your Victorian Change (1st edition) No.3 of series. Printed late 60's

The same format as 'Check your Change', this book stretches further back to cover the Victorian period (1838 - 1901). This book offers market values for all denominations, Fractional farthings to gold Five Pound coins. Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your channel islands change, RotographicCheck your Channel Islands Change (1st edition) No.5 of series. Printed late 60's

The same format as 'Check your Change', this book, the last in the 5 book 'Check your Change' series offers market values for the coins of the Channel Islands, Lundy and the Isle of Man. Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your channel islands change, RotographicCheck your Bermuda Change (1st edition) Alternative No.1 of series. Printed late 60's

Produced solely for the Bermuda market as an alternative to the 'Check you Change' No.1 British edition, although the contents are very similar. Covers the standard British coinage 1902-1968 that was legal tender on the Island, as well as the small range of Bermuda coinage. Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.

Check your Irish changeCheck your Irish Change (1st edition?) No.6 of series. Printed approximately 1969.

Re-discovered in August 2005, this booklet simply did not exist in the late 60's archive, so very little about it is known! It is clearly the forerunner of "Collectors' Coins Ireland" and is mentioned on the back of "Check Your Change No.1, 4th edition. Format: 32 pages, paperback, 12.3x7.7cm.
