George III coin book

Collectors George III coins (1998, 1st edition)

ISBN: 0-948964-90-1. Retail price: GB£4.50 (approx US$8.10)

Although the market values have not been updated since 1998, this book is still relevant for the sheer number of varieties it lists. The book will be updated and the next issue should be available in 2005.

See a page illustration.

To purchase this book, please see the Stockists link above.

The book covers all the George III (1760-1820) coinage of Great Britain and Ireland, including gold coinage. It also lists some unofficial token issues, as well as patterns, proofs etc and is a great accompaniment to the 1797 - date Collectors' Coins Great Britain 2005 book.

The book also features facts about George III and other snipets of information on what was going on in the world at that time. These little facts are presented in date order, one or two per page.

A George III shilling of the New coinage which begun in 1816, as listed on page 27 of Collectors' George III Coins. The shilling denomination (1/20th of a pound) remained exactly that shape and size from 1816 until 1990!
